New half-day creative workshops

3 February 2012

Being creative is exciting and challenging and generally makes life more interesting.

Creativity is about expressing yourself, stretching your boundaries, having fun and venturing beyond the known. We’ve got three new half-day workshops designed to give you the chance to find out if writing, art or photography are creative pursuits you’d like to explore. Once you’ve ‘had a go’ and decided to take your interest further, you can try your hand at courses such as The Nuts and Bolts of Writing, Children’s Book Illustration: Part One or The Art and Technique of Photography.

Creative Writing

You've always enjoyed writing and lately you've been wondering if you might be able to do something - maybe for yourself, for family, for publication or performance.

But what is this thing called “creative writing” and would you be any good at it? This course, taught by experienced teacher and Michael King/ University of Auckland Writing Fellow, Michelanne Forster, aims to answer those two questions in a participatory and insightful way. Come along, meet a group of people who love to read and write, and open the window to fresh ideas.

Art Making

Do you love art and want to have a go but are not sure where to start?

Besides you don't know if art making is really for you. Then experiment with us! Discover your unique creative talents as you explore basic drawing, painting and sculpture techniques. Have fun connecting to your unconscious mind and find out if you want to go further. Develop the artist in you.

Photography

Owning a DSLR camera has become relatively affordable, but understanding the functionality of the camera can be another story!

Join us as we explore the fundamentals of the DSLR camera and the different ways you can develop your interest in the subject. So if you are new to photography this is the perfect way to ignite your passion for photography. Bring your camera and your camera's manual with you.
