The Australasian Fluid Mechanics Conferences have been held triennially since the series inception
in 1962. This was the third of these conferences to be held in New Zealand.
The Australasian Fluid Mechanics Conference has been held triennially since the series inception at the University of Western Australia in 1962. During this time the conference has only been held in New Zealand twice and in March 2010 New Zealand was honoured once again with the role of host nation for this prestigious event. To ensure the efficient running of the conference, the Australasian
Fluid
Mechanics
Society enlisted the services of the CCE Conference Management team.
Managing an international conference with over 240 delegates from 21 countries, the conference team was able to demonstrate it’s extensive experience with an event of this level. With abstract management being one of it’s specialty areas the conference team processed over 300 submitted abstracts ensuring the 100 reviewers received all submissions in a methodical and timely manner. The result was the seamless presentation of 207 abstracts and papers over the 4 day event.
The event highlight was the presentation of eight fellows to the Australasian Fluid Mechanics Society held at the Events Centre on the top of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
