Oceania Regional Meeting of Confucius Institutes
International meeting of the Confucius Institutes around the world and Chinese language conference took place in Auckland in July 2010.
The promotion of Chinese language and culture has always been a key focus of the Confucius Institutes around the world. In July 2010 the Oceania Regional meeting and language conference took place in Auckland. Seventy Confucius Institute representatives from the Oceania, West and South Asia Regions met to discuss how to meet the specialised needs of the growing number of Confucius Institutes.
The CCE Conference Management team, in its preparation and planning phase, secured venues with ‘state of the art’ facilities. Featured architecture such as The University of Auckland’s Owen G Glenn building and the Fale Pasifika provided modern settings for the event.
All the sessions offered were interpreted in English and Mandarin. Official dinners were organised every evening with one of the social highpoints being a day trip to Waiheke Island to visit the acclaimed Stony Ridge Vineyard.
Knowing all aspects of the event were meticulously planned and executed, committee organisers were able to focus on their main objectives while still having the time to enjoy all that Auckland has to offer.
