US-NZ Health Innovation Symposium
The Health Innovation Symposium provided the opportunity to profile leading research in New Zealand and the USA across four health innovation themes.
After the signing of the Wellington Declaration in April 2010, New Zealand and the United States resolved to develop new joint initiatives to confront the challenges faced in the Pacific. Building on this momentum the US-NZ Health Innovation Symposium held on 17-18 February 2011 provided the opportunity to profile leading research in New Zealand and the United States across four health innovation themes; build new science collaborations; and look at ways these new ideas could be delivered into our health care systems, communities and homes enhancing the health and wellbeing of our citizens.
Being part of The University of Auckland, the CCE Conference Management team was the right choice for organising a symposium of this calibre. Understanding the immediate global value of health innovation research the conference team worked well to create the perfect environment in which to build solid collaborations between New Zealand and the United States.
Key note speakers included leaders from New Zealand and the US in the fields of health service innovation, food, nutrition and health, medical devices and biopharma. The ability of the conference team to understand the needs of individuals working at such a high level in their chosen fields was a contributing factor to the success of the symposium.
Ensuring the setting was comfortable and delegates were well catered for at all times, attendees and speakers alike could focus on the promotion of meaningful collaboration and reaching the desired outcomes of the event.
