Centre for Continuing Education

English language programmes

If you want a high quality programme in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), we will design one to meet your needs.

Whether you want to stay for one week or six, with ten students or 100, we can help.

We work closely with you to develop a unique and stimulating programme. Then we bring together a great team of enthusiastic and dedicated tutors with up-to-date specialist tertiary qualifications. These tutors deliver your customised programme. We also arrange field trips and activities to enhance your students' classroom learning.

We also provide customised programmes for international Professional Development and Study Abroad students.

Accommodation

The Centre for Continuing Education can arrange accommodation to suit your group.

The centre recommends that students taking part in an English language programme use homestay accommodation.

Homestay accommodation allows students to practise their English in a supportive and friendly environment. So it is an excellent way for students to accelerate their learning. Students also learn about New Zealand culture and way of life first-hand.

Homestay accommodation includes a room and breakfast and dinner on weekdays, and all meals for weekends and public holidays.

Homestay accommodation meets the criteria set out in the Ministry of Education's Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. We monitor all students to ensure they are well-matched with their host families.

There is also a good range of quality and budget hotels or apartments within 15 minutes walk of the university campus.
