Centre for Continuing Education

Information for agents

The Centre for Continuing Education seeks to provide excellent programmes that are tailored specifically to the needs of each group. For this reason our English Language programmes are usually delivered to closed groups, with class sizes of no more than 15 students.

The University of Auckland is a signatory of the Ministry of Education's Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. The Centre for Continuing Education is committed to the well-being of each and every student taking part in our English as a Foreign Language(EFL) programme. To find out more about the Code of Practice click here.

Under the requirements of the Code of Practice, each group of students must be accompanied by a group coordinator to ensure their safety and well-being. If you are unable to provide a group coordinator, please let us know.

The youngest age allowed for students on a CCE English Language programme is 16 years. Students under the age of 18 must stay with a homestay family for the duration of their course.

The centre can arrange homestay accommodation for the length of the group's stay. All homestay families are checked in compliance with the Ministry of Education's Pastoral Care for International Students Code of Practice.

It is also a requirement of the Code of Practice that all international students in New Zealand have comprehensive travel insurance. CCE will arrange for students to have this cover as part of their enrolment. More information is available here.
