Financing further study
When you undertake an undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate, there are a variety of options to help finance your studies.
The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust offers two New Start Awards to female students who successfully complete The University of Auckland’s New Start Programme and are enrolled or preparing to enrol full time, for a degree at The University of Auckland.
These annual awards are named Dame Dorothy Winstone and Rae Hammer Award to honour their contributions and are worth $15,000 each.
Closing date for application is 11 November in the year preceding that in which the award is to be held. Applications must be sent to address below.

The University of Auckland offers scholarships and awards for all levels of study and for most disciplines. You should familiarise yourself with the full range as early as possible to give yourself enough time to meet closing dates.

New Start is a part-time course and as such you will not be eligible for a student loan or allowance from Studylink.
Once you complete New Start you can apply to Studylink if you intend to enrol and study at The University of Auckland.
StudyLink administers all loans and allowances. Make sure you apply early to avoid any delays with your enrolment.
