Anne Cave
Programme Manager – Professional Development
Lifelong learning has always been my passion and I have been involved in continuing education for most of my adult life. My role involves working with individuals and organisations to help them develop their learning and development programmes. I enjoy having the enormous range of resources available within the University to help us find the right solution for both individuals and organisations.
I have successfully managed large national contracts for several government departments. Within the University I work with staff to facilitate the development and delivery of short non-credit programmes and courses to the wider community. I also facilitate staff professional development courses within CCE and I look forward to helping you find the right solution for your learning and development challenges.

Maria Meredith
Programme Manager – New Start
I joined New Start in 1999 as a programme manager. Prior to this I spent my time raising a young family and working part-time in banking and telecommunications sector. A family member encouraged me to enrol in New Start. At the end of the programme I went on to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and Anthropology.
When I joined the New Start team I learnt more about course design and delivery, coordinating and administrating university programmes, tutoring, assessments, communication and academic support. My job and students inspired me to later complete a Master of Arts degree in Education.
My primary areas of responsibilities are strategy and planning, support and monitor over 40 academics and 400 students each year, monitor and review programme quality, manage the budget, networking, recruitment and marketing.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is providing support to students during and after New Start all the way to graduation.

Tessa Lloyd-Hagemann
Conference Coordinator
Being a part of the conference team for the Centre for Continuing Education has added another ‘string’ to my events ‘bow’, which has previously been made up of corporate, community, sporting and live music events. I am passionate about the events world and the wealth of new experiences enjoyed every day. This includes working with scientists, engineers, primary health workers, environmentalists and educators all of whom are passionate about their fields. I have learnt more about soil-structure interaction and the analysis of a metabolome than I ever expected! Julie Fazakerley
Finance Operational Manager
I have been with CCE for over 20 years and have enjoyed many different roles during that time. Although I am now based in the finance area of the centre’s administration, these former positions have given me an overall knowledge and appreciation of what is involved in each of the programme areas. I have worked with several of The University of Auckland’s financial systems over the last two decades and find each new initiative in this field both challenging and rewarding. My responsibilities now include the management of CCE financial processes and applications in accordance with University policies, as well as submission of forecasting and budgetary control within the centre as a whole. I work with centre staff and find the role stimulating and always busy.
