We believe that anyone capable of taking advantage of a top quality education should have the opportunity to do so. If you would like to study at university the New Start programme is a great first.

New Start provides part-time bridging courses for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents over the age of 20 who want to come to university.

As a New Start student you will:

  • experience the excitement of learning
  • discover what university study is all about
  • improve your learning and research skills
  • awaken your mind to new possibilities
  • choose day or evening sessions that suit you
  • learn from lecturers who are committed to your success
  • develop friendships that may last a lifetime
  • plan your future study path.

If you do not have a degree then either 'New Start General' or 'New Start Business' is the course for you. If you already have a degree, you may wish to consider our 'Introduction to Postgraduate Study' workshop.
